Aragon Cattery was officially opened back in 2005.  It is set on five acres in picturesque Arcadia, a short 45 minute drive from Sydney CBD. We offer cat boarding with a difference. Our guests enjoy their very own five-star air-conditioned luxury suites, complete with individual outdoor decked sunning areas. You'll have peace of mind knowing that the owner/operator is an experienced vet nurse cat sitter with over 30 years in the animal boarding industry. We have expanded our knowledge of the cat world through breeding and showing the stunning British Short-hair cats.

No expense has been spared in our luxurious cattery, which offers Sydney felines short and long term cat boarding care. Our boutique boarding establishment consists of only 30 (total) Penthouse, Studio and Apartment suites. This allows us to dedicate more individual time to each and every guest, whom we know intimately. The cattery was originally purpose built and designed by Prue to house her own breeding cats, so you can be confident no expense has been spared to ensure comfort and quality.

When only the best will do

Our spacious suites have been designed to address all weather conditions. They are elevated off the ground away from ticks and dampness, and allow our guests to venture outside into a covered alfresco area, even when it’s raining or windy. During the cooler months, blinds are closed to keep the warmth in, though our guests can still see outside through the glass sliding doors or transparent blinds. Heated cat beds are also provided throughout the cooler months and cats are kept inside at night for comfort and safety reasons. Although they can still see outside through the glass sliding doors or windows.  The suites are well lit and sunshine streams in, with the reverse-cycle air conditioning (cooling & heating) maintaining a perfect temperature and ensuring our cats are comfortable all year round.

Quality Matters

We pride ourselves on the level of care and attention we give to all our beloved feline guests and also on the standard to which we maintain our facilities. Strict quality and hygiene controls are adhered to.  We are fully licensed with NSW CFA and Hornsby Shire council approved, and regulated against the NSW Animal Welfare Code of Practice No 5 - Dogs and Cats in Animal Boarding Establishments, which is endorsed by the NSW Animal Welfare Advisory Council.

The current code of practice standards can be found here:

We like Green. In our commitment to being environmentally friendly,  we have solar panels generating 20kWs of renewable power and tanks able to store over 100,000 litres of fresh rain water. Although drinking water is always sourced fresh from taps. The cat litter we use is made from recycled sawdust. So we are able to use this on the gardens as compost.

Meet the team

Aragon Cattery - Prue

Prue - our captain

I’m the proud owner and manager/operator of Aragon Cattery. Breeding cats and running Boarding Kennels has long been a family business. We’ve nurtured our business through the generations for over 40 years, handing down decades of expertise and loving care. I also have 3 adorable cats of my own.

Working with cats is not just a job or hobby, but a family affair.  With a passion that is literally in my blood (I’ve followed in the footsteps of my parents, grandparents, uncles and siblings), being raised around animals and having extensive involvement in the family’s boarding kennel business from a very young age. I have an intricate understanding of cat's needs, desires, behaviour and ailments. This only comes with a deep appreciation for cats combined with a life of hands-on experience and patience.

In addition to being a qualified Veterinary Nurse, I’ve bred and shown cats (Persians, Exotics, Bengals, Selkirk Rex and British Shorthair) for over 15 years and owned a pet grooming parlour. Now, I primarily focus on luxury cat boarding.  Just for something different, I’m also a certified Drafts-woman.

I’ve been fortunate enough to have had the support of my wonderful family (Dad helped build the cattery), along with my extended 'feline family', who have enabled me to grow my business and now I’m very proud to be able to share it with you.

Megan - our second-in-command

I have a passion for the animal kingdom.  I have been a volunteer animal attendant at the Hawksbury Companion Animal Shelter since 2015, while completing my Cert II in Animal studies. Working at Aragon Cattery, I love the opportunity to be involved with all our furry guests and interact with their owners.

I’m Mum/Grandma. Our family has been in the pet boarding and grooming business for many years. I, too, owned a cattery but didn't lose the passion even when we retired. So I help out at Aragon whenever I’m needed. Because that’s what Mum’s do, right?! I've seen a few catteries in my time. I honestly believe Aragon Cattery is one of the best out there and sets the precedent in the Animal Boarding industry.

Bianca - our reserves

Hi, I'm a cat lover and enthusiast in the making! Mum often gets me to help out and most of the time I don't mind. Although, when my friends come around, mum doesn't mind if I take a leave of absence. If you see a feisty little red-head running around, that's me!

Glenorie Vets

As part of our 'extended family', the team from Glenorie Veterinarian Clinic have been working with us since 2004. We've always had a great relationship with the clinic, who recommend us to their clients as a quality and trustworthy pet boarding facility.
